We all love Apples iChat, its my favourite application for IM because it does so many different things! (file sharing, screen sharing, web-cam) Now we add to that list adding our Facebook Chat into iChat.

We need to first get your Facebook username so go to your home profile. Now look at your URL bar.
(view http://www.facebook.com/your_username/) Copy or remember the username without the "?ref=profile" if you see that like i do.

Open iChat, then select iChat > Preferences and click on the Accounts tab.

Click on the + sign to add a new account, now input these settings:

For some time you have been able to download your Podcast's directly to your iPhone. However lets say your on the Skytrain or Bus and you want to listen to that freshly released Podcast, the problem is to download anything over 10MB requires that you be connected to WiFi.

So that's not going to work out so well for you. But instead of tapping the "download" button on a Podcast, simply tap the episode's title.

There is a great debate over which browsers to use on the Mac, I get the question about 10 times a week. Which browser should I use and why?

There are Pro's and Con's to all of the browsers out there, but the one thing I do like about the Firefox browser, is that the application is an open-sourced application. Meaning this permits users to use, change, and improve the software, or redistribute it in modified or unmodified forms.

This is a mixed bag in the ways that software developers can enhance and also diminish the quality of a product.

Find a great webpage on your iPhone and want to share it with someone? Tap on the address bar, and then tap on Share. A new e-mail message, containing the URL, will open in Mail; just choose one or more recipients, add your comments, and tap on Send.

Sooner or later, you will lose files, so you have to be prepared. Fortunately, Time Machine the backup application built in to Snow Leopard (and Leopard) makes backups easy.

The first thing you’ll need to purchase is an External USB or FireWire hard drive. If you don't know what your looking for, buy the largest drive you can afford. A 500 GB or 1 TB drive is a safe bet. Try the Western Digital's WD Passport, or the Western Digital My Book Studio Edition. Also Lacie's d2 Quadra Hard Disk or Grand Hard disk are a great and visually attractive option.

WhoPaste 3.0

On a busy day the last thing I want to do is to type or copy/paste data into individual fields to create a contact. I was looking for a better way to work, and improve my efficiency. WhoPaste has changed my work flow because it interprets the data I have, places it into the appropriate field, and interacts with the storage system saving me time and increasing accuracy. The best part is that it supports Daylite, Google Contacts, Entourage, or Address Book. The license is around 10$ USD

I've been in the position a number of times where someone wants to know a estimate of an item(s) on the spot and have it sent to them over text message or e-mail.

I always get into the jam of typing out the calculations in iPhones Calculator app and then having to repeat the digits over and over to myself until I get back to my home screen then initiate my Mail app, create a new message and then scurry down to the body of the message to regurgitate the numbers.

Phew! I remembered. This time....

So here is a nice easy tip due in part to iPhones OS 3.0 !

No more walking in the rain to the nearest video store! Renting movies from iTunes is amazingly easy and you can watch them with your Mac, iPhone, a supported video-enabled iPod, or on your TV using your Apple TV. The selection is great and the standard-definition movie rentals are only $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. You can keep the downloaded rental for up to 30 days, though once you start watching it, you have 24 hours before it no longer will be viewable.. Rentals disappear when they expire, so they won’t take up space on your hard drive.

The inspector window is the toolbox in all things Apple. It allows you to change settings in your application related to content applied inside of your project. As you select different items in your project, the contents of the inspector window will also change, so you are always able to go back to the properties of that object.

The reason these items are contained in one window is to keep all of the information in one location. However, you may want multiple inspectors that contain different sections open at the same time. There is a quick way to get each tab into its own inspector.
